Thursday morning I checked outside at 05:45 to see thick fog, 10 minutes later I was out of the house and making my way up the valley towards Castleton and Winnats Pass, I had my fingers crossed as I drove up Winnats hoping that the fog was only confined to the valley bottom so I was delighted to see it clear as I reached the top. I had a big grin on my face as I walked over the fields as I knew I was in for some great conditions and I wasn’t disappointed, as the sun rose over the clouds the light was wonderful giving some lovely golden tones as the rest of the Hope Valley sat under a blanket of thick fog.
