22. Morning mist on Winnats Pass
22. Morning mist on Winnats Pass

Yesterday morning I looked outside at 4am to see thick fog so that made my mind up to get out for the sunrise, you never know whether it’s going to be clear higher up until you actually get there. I decided to head up to the top of Winnats Pass and with fingers crossed set off, it was still thick fog as I drove past Speedwell cavern but by half way up the pass I could start to see the outlines of the tops and by the time I’d reached the summit I was above the fog so was delighted that it paid off. I could see the first colours of the dawn as I walked over the fields to the top of Winnats and by the time I’d set up my tripod the sky was coming alive. You could see cars lights through the fog coming up and down the pass so I chose to do a long exposure to capture the light trails adding an extra splash of colour to the scene.
