Walking up onto Millstone Edge I came across these silver birch trees being back lit by the evening sun, they looked magnificent with the light shining through the fresh green leaves and I loved the way it also illuminated the bilberry plants in the foreground creating a nice contrast with the old heather. I deliberately placed the sun behind the tree to diffuse its power and reduce the possibility of lens flare by shooting directly into a strong sun.
