The Anvil Stone
The Anvil Stone

The stone sits at the far end of Baslow Edge and makes an interesting shot when backlit by a low evening sun producing a semi-silhouetted image and all the better when you have a great sky to go with it.
Composition wise placing the subject in the centre of the frame is usually undesirable but in this shot I think it works as the shadows and clouds have produced a natural lead in drawing your eye to the centre of the image.
