I discovered this particular millstone a good while ago while exploring Burbage but have been waiting for the right conditions to capture it at the optimum time.
This is the first one I've seen with a cross type centre and extra holes so I've been looking forward to adding it to my collection of Peak District millstones images.
I took this shot at the beginning of the golden hour when the sun was still high enough to throw some warm light over the millstones surface highlighting the textures of the gritstone.
Naturally it had to be photographed when the heather was in full flower
